"Summer Wars"

     I'm not the people who watch countless anime, but my friends and me actually love this kind of Japanese animated productions. Why do we love these? One said the graphic was good, the animation is really soft, natural, and amazing. The another people might think the psychological aspect can be reflecterd through the characters, especially the facial expression. Anime enables us to visualize if we were the anime characters and it enables us to see our lives and values. May be it's a bit late for me to know the anime "Summer Wars," at least I've watched it today. It's really impressive, not only the graphic, but the story, the values within it, and many else.

     The virtual reality world called OZ is the place where humans create their accounts and their avatar to communicate with each other. One day, Kenji Koiso cracked the mathematical codes in OZ and his account was taken over by "Love Machine," an artificial intelligence in the OZ infrastructure which is developed by Wabisuke Jinnouchi (Natsuki's uncle). Love machine uses his account to steal others' account and invade the OZ infrastructure. Kenji Koiso and his friends find out the OZ world and human world are related. The Love Machine made the virtual world in chaos, this chaos made the human world in disaster too. Natsuki Shinohara and Kazuma Ikezawa (the second cousin of Natsuki) help Kenji beat the Love Machine. Unfortunately, Natsuki's grandma (Grandma Sakae) passed away because of the chaos. It looks like they felt an ambivalent feelings, they want to take a revenge on Love Machine, but they have to stay with the family to overcome the grief due to the grandma's death. Grandma leaves a letter for them before she passed away. They got their courage and try to defeat Love Machine. It was a strict battle and they made it! The OZ world and human world return to normal. The family celebrate the event and Grandma's birthday, they got Kenji and Natsuki confessed their love to each other.

     Generally, a story includes one or two themes, Summer Wars has a different story theme. It includes the stories of family, love, fantasy, and battle. The story reflects the bonds within a family and how they support the members in the family to overcome a situation. There's a harmony in the family, they were having fun together, and they know the other's feelings. The feelings was viewed as love, the love for parents, the love for younger generation, caring, and togetherness. Kenji felt the bonds within the family, he said Natsuki's family is different with his family. He felt the togetherness, fun, and love in Natsuki family. He especially surprised by how Natsuki treats her uncle kindly, even the family rejects her uncle. She keeps her trust for her uncle until the final fight when the others still believe him as a traitor. The feelings of love made them felt Grandma Sakae is always beside them despite she has passed away. The feelings enables them to fight Love Machine together and managed to defeat it. They lost to Love Machine for several times, but they won't surrender until the end, that's a spirit! All of these themes is a fantasy, a special taste of fantasy.

     The anime taught us to think before we act. Acting without thinking is careless, it could be a danger in the future like in Summer Wars. If only Kenji didn't solve the code, the world is not in danger state. But if we got careless and caused a problem, don't forget our relatives. They always stay with us whatever it takes, they'll fight along with us to reach our goals. In the middle of our fight, we often feel like we couldn't reach the goal, it seems there's no hopes left. Remember that in the darkest place, we always be able to see the light. All we need is to strive to find the light, the light of hope. There's always a miracle when we believe ourselves and others. We live with beliefs and hopes, we always act with our beliefs and act to reach our hopes.
